“Minotauro” Nogueira, Ross Pearson and Edson Barboza Collect UFC 134 Bonuses
By FCF Staff
Not only did Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira return to the winner’s circle last night at UFC 134 by knocking out rising heavyweight Brendan Schaub, the legendary fighter collected an extra $100,000 for his efforts.
Following the event the UFC announced that Nogueira had been awarded the “Knockout of the Night” bonus, for putting Schaub away with a flurry of punches in round one. Nogueira (pictured) was competing for the first time since he was stopped by current UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez in February, 2010.
The card’s “Fight of the Night” bonus went to lightweights Ross Pearson and Edson Barboza, who as many expected, put on an entertaining striking clinic for fans. Each man received an extra $100,000 for their performance.
Barboza took the memorable bout by split decision to extend his Octagon record to 3-0.
Due to the fact the card featured no submissions, no “Submission of the Night” bonus was handed out.
