“Kid” Yamamoto and Damacio Page Agree to UFC 135 Bout

By FCF Staff

Japanese star Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto (pictured) will look for his first Octagon victory at UFC 135 in September, as the promotion is reporting that he and bantamweight vet Damacio Page have agreed to fight at the event. UFC 135 is expected to take place in Denver, Colorado, although the event’s exact date and venue have not been officially confirmed yet.

“These are two of the most aggressive sluggers in the always-exciting bantamweight division,” UFC President Dana White was quoted saying in the official announcement.

Yamamoto (18-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 126 in February, after knocking out Federico Lopez at Dream 14 last May. Once regarded as one of the world’s top pound-for-pound fighters, Yamamoto has gone 1-3 since 2009.

Page (15-6) will be looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to the aforementioned Johnson and more recently former WEC champion Brian Bowles, who choked Page out at UFC Live 3 in March. Page went 3-2 in WEC action before the promotion was incorporated into the UFC.
