“Mayhem” Miller Says “Dana White Was Right” About Loss to Michael Bisping

After Jason “Mayhem” Miller failed to impress in his recent Octagon return, by fading early against fellow TUF 14 coach Michael Bisping and being stopped in the third round, debate continued afterwards as to how disappointing the renowned fighter’s performance in fact was.
Leading the charge on the most critical front was none other than UFC President Dana White, who not only did not score the first round in Miller’s favor like many, he labeled the veteran’s striking “as the worst stand-up I’ve ever seen in my life.” In addition, despite the fact Miller was enlisted to coach on the most recent edition of TUF, White would not commit at the time to having the middleweight back.
While some fans and fighters took opposition with White’s comments, the fighter himself apparently isn’t one of them. Speaking via his official website recently, Miller stated:
“Dana White was right. He made some disparaging comments about my performance, and I agree with him. I displayed the worst of everything that night in the octagon. I was tense in round one and I locked up after that. I didn’t perform to my potential, and I take full responsibility for it. That wasn’t a UFC caliber performance, and I’m not happy about it- I won’t, however, write a worthless diatribe on myself, because that is not constructive. I elect instead to take this misstep and make something positive out of it.”
Miller (23-8) was competing for the first time in over a year when he faced Bisping on December 3rd, as the charismatic middleweight hadn’t fought since September 25th, 2010, when he submitted Japanese legend Kazushi Sakuraba.
“I made a lot of mistakes in this story- during the camp, during the fight- but the key to living life is learning from your mistakes and making positive change,” Miller added. “I feel very positive right now, and I hope you feel the same way, I would be absolutely nothing without persistence and positive thinking, and if there is anything i want you to take from my blog it is that mentality. I will continue on this amazing journey, looking to make the most epic stories that I can.”
The UFC has yet to announce the promotion’s plans for Miller, whose only losses since 2007 have come against the aforementioned Bisping and former Strikeforce champions Jake Shields and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
