“Popo” Bezerra Confirmed for Bellator Season Six

By FCF Staff

Bellator Fighting Championships has announced that featherweight prospect Alexandre “Popo” Bezerra will return to the organization in 2012 and will compete in the promotion’s upcoming Season Six tourney. The announcement came today via Bellator’s official Twitter account.

Bezerra (12-1) has already scored four wins under the Bellator banner, as the featherweight scored a TKO stoppage over Scott Heckman and submission victories over Sam Jones, Jesse Gross and Douglas Evans in 2011.

The fighter’s only defeat to date came against UFC vet Charles Olveira in 2009, who submitted Bezarra with a third round, Anaconda Choke while competing for First Class Fight.

Bezerra is the latest featherweight to be confirmed for the Season Six competition, as Bellator announced earlier that Ronnie Mann and Daniel Strauss are both participating.

Bellator’s next season gets underway on March 2nd and will be broadcast live on MTV 2.
