Mark Munoz Fighting Chris Weidman in UFC on FUEL 4 Headliner

Chris Weidman

By FCF Staff

The UFC has added another noteworthy middleweight bout to its summer schedule, as the promotion has confirmed that Mark Munoz will fight  the rising Chris Weidman at its July 11, UFC on FUEL TV event.

The match-up was first reported on the network’s UFC Tonight program, however; no venue has been announced yet.

Munoz (12-2) will be competing for the first time since November when he stopped Chris Leben at UFC 138 to extend his winning streak to four.

The middleweight had been scheduled to fight number one contender Chael Sonnen in January, however, the 34 year-old vet was forced to withdraw due to an elbow injury.

Weidman (8-0) has won all four of his UFC bouts to date. In January, the decorated wrestler handed Demian Maia a unanimous decision loss at the second UFC on FOX card.
