By Press Release
SELMA, Calif. – Fan-favorite Maritza Sanchez will return to the 559 Fights cage on Saturday, March 16th at the Rainbow Ballroom in Fresno. Sanchez (4-6) will face Menifee’s Keana Montenegro (5-0) in a women’s bantamweight title fight. Doors open at 6pm and first fight is scheduled for 7 in the 15-bout, mixed martial arts feature.
“The women’s bouts have always been a fan favorite and Maritza is someone who has become ultra-popular in our area,” said 559 Fights owner Jeremy Luchau. “I’m looking forward to going back to Rainbow Ballroom. I feel like that’s a venue that can really become a staple of MMA on the Valley.”
In the co-main event, Coalinga’s Enoch McCottrell (2-0) takes on Orange featherweight Daniel Alvarez (4-1). The winner could be looking at a showdown with current 559 Fights Featherweight kingpin Wilton Zigler (6-3)
“This is a big year for 559 Fights. We are looking to really focus on title fights, contenders, growing Valley MMA and introducing some grappling super fights,” Luchau said. “When you’ve done as many shows as we have, you have to do something a little different to keep the fight fans interested.”
The remaining fights will be released after March 1. For more information visit www.559fights.com
