Robert Whittaker to Battle Jared Cannonier Next
By FCF Staff
It hasn’t taken Robert Whittaker long to secure his next bout, following his win over Darren Till last month, as it’s being reported he’s agreed to fight Jared Cannonier.
Whittaker and Cannonier are going to battle at the October 24th, UFC 254 card, according to a report from ESPN. The report cites UFC President Dana White as the source.
Whittaker (21-5) met Till in the headliner of the UFC’s July 26th card in Abu Dhabi and worked his way to a unanimous decision win. It marked the first time the fighter had competed since he lost the middleweight title to Israel Adesanya last October.
Cannonier (13-4) hasn’t fought since September when he stopped Jack Hermansson. The former light-heavyweight and heavyweight has won three straight bouts.
