Welterweight Prospect Dhiego Lima Returning to Action at MFC 34
By FCF Staff
Full Contact Fighter has learned today that welterweight prospect Dhiego Lima, the younger brother of Bellator contender Douglas, will compete at the upcoming August 10th, Maximum Fighting Championship card in Edmonton, Alberta.
The MFC confirmed the news with FCF; however, the promotion has not confirmed an opponent for Lima yet.
The 22 year-old Lima (6-1) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Nathan Coy at MFC 32. Coy has since gone on to secure the promotion’s welterweight belt after he stopped Ryan McGillivray at MFC 33 last month.
Prior to the loss Lima had won three straight fights under the MFC banner, which included knockout wins over James Toney and Bill Fraser.
The upcoming MFC 34 card will be hosted by Edmonton’s Mayfield Trade Centre and will be broadcast on HDNet.
The event will feature a rematch between Mike Hackert and Tim Hague. Hackert scored an upset, unanimous decision victory over Hague at a Prestige FC card in May.
