The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added one of Britain’s top fighters to its ranks, as according to multiple reports, Tom “Kong” Watson has signed with the organization and will make his Octagon debut September 29th versus Brad Tavares.
Watson (15-4), who is the reigning BAMMA middleweight champion, joins the UFC having won three straight fights versus Alex Reid, Murilo Rua and most recently Jack Marshmann.
Tavares (8-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dongi Yang at a UFC on FUEL card in May, after losing by UD to Aaron Simpson last July.
The upcoming, September 29th card in Nottingham will also feature a bout between British welterweights John Maguire and John Hathaway.
Maguire (18-3) tapped out DaMarques Johnson in his last outing at a UFC on FUEL card in April, while Hathaway (16-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Pascal Krauss, at a UFC on FOX card in May.
The UFC on FUEL TV 5 card will be hosted by Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena.
