Report: Bellator Heavyweight Champion Cole Konrad Retiring from MMA
By FCF Staff
It appears as though Bellator will need to crown a new heavyweight champion, as according to multiple reports Wednesday, the undefeated, 28 year-old fighter has decided to retire from MMA. Bellator has not made any announcement regarding the reports.
TwinCities.com reportedly was the first to relay that Konrad has decided to hang up the gloves, to in turn, accept a position with North Central Trading as a financial trader.
Konrad (9-0) hasn’t competed since May, when he quickly tapped out Eric Prindle with a first round, Kimura.
The former NCAA wrestling champion has gone 7-0 to date while fighting for Bellator, and during his run with the promotion he scored victories over veterans like Paul Buentello, Neil Grove, and Rogent Lloret.
