“Rampage” Jackson Plans to “See if the Grass is Greener” After “Destroying Glover Teixeira”

For some time now, “Rampage” Jackson has been stating that he intends to leave the UFC after his current contract is over, and the former light-heavyweight champ doesn’t appear to be changing his mind.

While appearing on the latest edition of AXS TV’s “Inside MMA”, the charismatic fighter relayed:

“I want to see what else is out there; I want to see if the grass is greener on the other side. I want to see,” the 34 year-old Jackson said. “This is the last fight on my contract and I’m going to destroy Glover. My main focus is destroying Glover Teixeira.”

Although Jackson is sticking to his guns, in terms of exiting from the UFC, the light-heavyweight didn’t criticize the promotion as he’s done so in the past.

“UFC is a great company,” added Jackson. “I just don’t feel they are doing great things for me.”

Jackson had been scheduled to fight Teixeira at UFC 153 earlier this month, however, he was forced to withdraw due to injury.

After Teixeira battered Fabio Maldonado en route to a second round, stoppage, the rising fighter reiterated his wish to fight Jackson next. Jackson proceeded to ask UFC President Dana White for the bout via Twitter, to which the latter responded “sounds good.”

Jackson (32-10) is coming off back-to-back losses to Ryan Bader and champion Jon Jones, after scoring wins over Matt Hamill and Lyoto Machida.
