Full Contact Fighter’s “The Daily Takedown”: Tyson Fury Should Forget About The UFC
By Joshua Molina
Inter-sport matches never work.
They are ridiculous on their face. And they prove nothing.
James Toney made a fool of himself trying to fight Randy Couture.
Now Tyson Fury wants to fight Cain Velasquez in a UFC cage.
That would be a disaster.
In a cage, Velasquez wins everytime. In a boxing ring, Fury wins, everytime.
Imagine Muhammad Ali, the greatest boxer of all time, scrambling to avoid a Cain Velasquez takedown? It wouldn’t happen.
Imagine Velasquez trying to stand with Ali? Velasquez couldn’t even stand with Junior Dos Santos.
MMA vs. Boxing matches are pointless and only serve to stroke Dana White’s ego.
If White is so confident about Velasquez’s abilities, let him step into a boxing ring.
They are both two different disciplines that both require respect.
Fury shouldn’t be stupid enough to step inside the cage. He’s a boxer, not a mixed martial artist.
He shouldn’t avoid White’s publicity trap.
