WSOF 7: Karakhanyan Taps Palmer to Take Featherweight Title, Taylor Decisions Mutapcic in Middleweight Semifinal
By FCF Staff
Georgi Karakhanyan not only became the first man to defeat the rising Lance Palmer tonight at World Series of Fighting 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia, but he became the promotion’s first featherweight champ while doing so.
The Millennia MMA vet caught Palmer with a beautifully executed guillotine choke from his guard in round three, which forced the Team Alpha Male member to tap-out in the frame’s final minute.
In the card’s co-headliner, Jesse Taylor’s wrestling and top game was too much for middleweight Elvis Mutpacic, and the UFC vet worked his way to a unanimous decision win. Up next, Taylor will face David Branch in the promotion’s tournament final to crown WSOF’s first 185 pound champion.
