Ellenberger on Possible Rematch With Condit: “I’m In!”
By FCF Staff
Now that Carlos Condit is in need of an opponent, for a bout that very well could land the winner a shot at the UFC welterweight belt, speculation continues as to who it will be. More recently, Tyron Woodley made it clear he was interested in fighting Condit, and now Jake Ellenberger has relayed he wants that fight as well.
The promotion’s #4 ranked welterweight recently tweeted:
I’ve been getting bombarded from the fans about Condit/Ellenberger II fight -If that’s what you guys want, I’m in!

Ellenberger was supposed to fight Tarec Saffiedine in Sinagpore on January 4th, however, a hamstring injury pulled him from the fight. Condit was scheduled to fight Matt Brown initially at UFC on FOX 9 this past weekend, but the latter is now sidelined with a back injury.
Ellenberger and Condit, who is the #1 ranked contender, fought in 2009. Condit emerged with a split decision win.
Condit is coming off a stoppage win over Martin Kampmann in August, while Ellenberger hasn’t fought since July when he lost by UD to Rory MacDonald.
