Jason High has not had a pleasant start to his 2014 campaign, as the welterweight vet is reporting that his appendix ruptured on New Year’s day, and that he will not fight at UFC FN 35 as a result.

The 32 year-old fighter announced the news via his Facebook account and posted the picture above. High also relayed via Twitter that:

The Strikeforce vet was scheduled to fight Beniel Dariush at the January 15th event, which will go down in Duluth, Georgia. According to a follow up report from MMA Junkie.com, Charlie Brenneman has agreed to take his place.

High is coming off back-to-back wins over Anthony Lapsley and James Head and is 9-1 in his last ten bouts.
