According to a recent post from Phil Baroni, the UFC and Strikeforce will return to action on May 2nd at Bellator 118.
Baroni, who hasn’t fought since last May due to a serious leg injury he incurred during a stoppage loss to Nobutatsu Suzuki, reported the news via his Instragram account.
Baroni’s post included hash tags like “#BELLATOR #May2 #AtlanticCity #NJ #WhereItAllStarted #NewYorkBadAss #NYBA #ImBack and #SPIKE.
No information regarding the 37 year-old fighter’s opponent was mentioned, and Bellator has yet to make an official announcement.
Prior to facing Suzuki, Baroni lost by unanimous decision to Hayato Sakurai, after stopping Rodrigo Ribeiro at ONE FC 5 in 2012. The powerful welterweight has gone 1-4 in his last 5 contests.
Bellator 118 will be hosted by the Revel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
