UFC Rankings Update: Matt Brown Nears Top Five After Latest Victory
By FCF Staff
After recording a stoppage win over Erick Silva at UFC Fight Night 40, and extending his winning streak to seven, welterweight Matt Brown continues to zone in on a top five ranking spot.
The UFC has released the promotion’s latest rankings, following the May 10th card in Cincinnati, and Brown has moved up a position to #6. Feared slugger and former middleweight, Hector Lombard, dropped a slot and is now ranked #7.
Although lightweight Rustam Khabilov is preparing for a June 7th bout with former champ Benson Henderson, the latest rankings have seen him move from #14 to #11.
Flyweight Chris Cariaso moved up two positions, thanks to his split decision win over Louis Smolka on Saturday, and is ranked #8. The noted striker has won three straight fights.
The UFC rankings are determined by a panel of media members and are voted on after each event.
