Bas Rutten and Miesha Tate Weigh in on Whether Jon Jones is a ‘Dirty Fighter’
By FCF Staff
Jon Jones scored an impressive, decision win over Glover Teixeira at UFC 172, but the light-heavyweight champ continues to take shots regarding some of the eye pokes he delivered.
During the bout Jones was warned twice for the foul, but because the referee ruled them as accidental, no point was deducted.
Well, in a recent edition of “Inside MMA”, Bas Rutten and Miesha Tate were asked to weigh-in on the debate, is Jones a ‘dirty fighter.’ While Tate wouldn’t say Jones was deliberately using an illegal technique, Rutten stated:
“He knows exactly what he’s doing at any given time and his fingers were definitely in (Teixeira’s) face for a long time. He was constantly rubbing them in the face. Yeah, I’m sorry. I have to say yes.”
Up next, Jones will take on Alexander Gustafsson for a second time later this year.
