Report: “The Korean Zombie” Withdrawing From UFC FN 53

Chan Sung Jung

By FCF Staff

It looks like Chan Sung Jung’s Octagon return has been pushed back even further, as “The Korean Zombie” has reportedly pulled out of his UFC Fight Night 53 bout with Akira Corassani.

Jung was scheduled to fight Corassani at the October 4th event, but according to MMA in Asia.com, “TKZ” has re-injured the shoulder he dislocated versus Jose Aldo last August.

The report cites Jung’s manager as the source, who also relayed that the injury is not serious, and that the fighter will be able to resume training in several weeks.

Jung (13-4) hasn’t fought since he was stopped by the featherweight champ Aldo at UFC 163. The South Korean fighter has fought just once now since 2012 due to injuries.

The UFC has not made any statement yet regarding Jung’s reported injury.
