UFC’s Drew Dober Booked to Fight Efrain Escudero Next
By FCF Staff
Not long after the Brazilian Commission announced that it has overturned Drew Dober’s loss to Leandro Silva last week, the UFC has announced that the lightweight will battle Efrain Escudero on June 13th.
The lightweight fight will be part of UFC 188, which will go down in Mexico City.
Dober (15-6) faced Silva at UFC FN 62, and the bout ended in controversy, as the referee believed Dober had gone unconscious from a guillotine choke. Dober was conscious, however, and just days ago the Brazilian Commission announced the bout had been overturned to a no contest. The 26 year-old was coming off a first round, rear-naked-choke win over Jamie Varner in December.
Escudero (23-9) has been tapped to coach TUF Latin America 2, and is coming off a decision win over Rodrigo de Lima in February.
UFC 188 will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Cain Velasquez and interim champ, Fabricio Werdum.
