Matt Mitrione Blasts Matt Hughes For Nick Diaz Comments
By FCF Staff
After Matt Hughes recently argued that Nick Diaz acted like a “punk” in front of the Nevada Commission, Matt Mitrione has criticized the UFC’s Vice President of Athlete and Development.
Earlier this week, the Nevada Commission announced that it has suspended Diaz for five years, following his third positive test for marijuana this past January. Many fighters have spoken out against the decision since.
Recently Hughes weighed-in on the situation on Twitter, and Mitrione called out the former welterweight champ for his comments. Here is some of what the two had to say.
I think the suspension was excessive, but you can't walk in there like a punk and expect leniency. @baltim0re28

I would act like I did something wrong next time and answer the questions. No-one wants Nick out his last years. @a_dbears

@mattmitrione you need to go back and read all my tweets. Not just one.

@mattmitrione if you think I'm on the commissions side you don't read well!

I read just fine and my position is you shouldn't have spoken out against US publicly. YOU vs US is my position https://t.co/Q0M8fD1kXd

I shouldn't have used "punk" when talking about being in front of the commission. I watched the video of him after. @remergedj
