Report: Thiago Alves Withdrawing From UFC Fight Night 116
By FCF Staff
UFC Fight Night 116 is in need of a new co-headliner, as Thiago Alves has reportedly withdrawn from Saturday’s event.
Alves was scheduled to fight welterweight Mike Perry in the co-main event. MMA Junkie is reporting, however, that the perennial contender has pulled out. The reason for Alves’ withdrawal has not been disclosed.
The long time contender would have been fighting for the first time since April, when Alves earned a decision win over Patrick Cote.
UFC officials are reportedly seeking a replacement opponent for Perry.
UFC FN 116 will be hosted by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
