Watch Live: 2018 IMMAF European Open Championships

By Press Release

[15 June 2018. Bucharest] The International MMA Federation (IMMAF) is to live stream two tournaments on its newly launched OTT platform immaf.tv: The 2018 IMMAF Senior European Championships and the 2018 IMMAF Youth European Open Championships will be available for audiences around the world to watch live from Bucharest from 18 to 22 June, from just € 4.99.

Hosted by the Romanian Kempo MMA Federation, IMMAF’s two nation vs nation, elite amateur MMA tournaments will run concurrently at the Grand Rin Hotel over 5 days. The senior event features 126 competitors from 23 nations, while the inaugural junior championship puts a stake in the ground with 30 athletes from 10 countries.

See provisional list of competitors, by National Team & by Weight Class, here (Seniors) and here (Juniors); or follow live list at mynextmatch.com

Athletes’ participation will be finalised during Check-In on 17 June, with the Tournament Draw taking place that evening. Competition matches take place from Monday 18 to Friday 22 starting at 11am, with the bouts schedule* dictated by the brackets, which can followed live at mynextmatch.com via its Event Finder: https://www.mynextmatch.com/event-finder. (*See provisional daily schedule below.)

The IMMAF Youth European Open Championships is the IMMAF’s first ever junior competition for 18,19 & 20-year-olds only. Junior competitions conform to the standard IMMAF Amateur MMA Rules. Their purpose is to provide opportunity for younger rising stars to shine against competitors of a similar range of experience. In line with IMMAF’s ethos, they create a safer competition environment for younger adults who have not yet reached their physical peak.

Following the recent amalgamation with rival the World Mixed Martial Arts Association, this is the first IMMAF tournament to welcome WMMAA athletes en route to a unifying World Amateur MMA Championships in Bahrain in November.

IMMAF President, Kerrith Brown, said: “The launch of IMMAF.TV is another fantastic milestone for IMMAF, allowing us to connect in real time, now, with MMA fans worldwide.”
