Volkan Oezdemir will compete at UFC 227 next month without legal issues hanging over his head.

The light-heavyweight is scheduled to fight fellow contender, Alexander Gustafsson, at the August 4th card. According to a report from MMA Fighting a felony battery charge that was brought against Oezdemir, following an alleged bar fight in Florida last year, has been dropped.

The outlet was informed the charges have been dropped, since the alleged victim is not cooperating with authorities.

After news of Oezdemir’s arrest surfaced last November, his legal team  claimed that the Swiss fighter was not the aggressor.

Oezdemir is coming off a stoppage loss to 205 champ Daniel Cormier in January.
