Chris Weidman Responds to News of Luke Rockhold Withdrawing From UFC 230

Recently it was reported that Luke Rockhold will no longer fight at UFC 230 due to injury, and the man he was supposed to face, Chris Weidman, has responded,
Following the news of Rockhold’s withdrawal from the November 3rd card, Weidman tweeted out this:
I was really looking forward to fighting Luke in this rematch but unfortunately it wasn’t in the cards this time around. This is a tough sport. I’m hoping and praying Luke makes a quick recovery and returns to good health.

Rockhold and Weidman fought in 2015, and the latter lost the middleweight title via a fourth round, stoppage.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto is now reporting that “Jacare” Souza will face Weidman at UFC 230. Souza was booked to fight David Branch at the upcoming, New York City card. Jared Cannonier has reportedly agreed to face Branch.
