Anthony Pettis is Examining Fan Interest in Possible Showdown With Stephen Thompson
By FCF Staff
Former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis has begun examing fan interest in a possible showdown with welterweight contender, Stephen Thompson.
Pettis, who was fighting at 145 in 2016, is coming off a corner stoppage loss to lightweight contender Tony Ferguson in October. More recently “Showtime” posted the question below via Instagram.
The 31 year-old Pettis has gone 2-3 in his last five bouts, but all of his defeats have come against top tier competition in the aforementioned Ferguson, Dustin Poirier and featherweight champ, Max Holloway.
The 35 year-old Thompson, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since last May due to injuries he sustained in his decision loss to Darren Till.
