Dana White Issues Statement, Calls Escalation in Khabib Nurmagomedov – Conor McGregor Social Media War “Unacceptable”

Following the latest round of social media shots between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, Dana White has issued a statement in which he called the situation “unacceptable”.
Recently it was reported that McGregor posted an image of Nurmagomedov’s veiled wife at their wedding day, in an insulting tweet, which was eventually taken down. Nurmagomedov responded with a tweet of his own, which referenced a sexual assault allegation Irish authorities are reportedly conducting regarding McGregor.
Since then, White released this statement (via UFC.com):
“I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is unacceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally.”
McGregor faced Nurmagomedov in October of last year and was submitted by the lightweight champ in the fourth round.
