Report: Matt Brown to Face Ben Saunders in First Bout Since 2017
By FCF Staff
After being sidelined throughout much of 2018, it’s being reported Matt Brown will return to the Octagon before 2019 is up, and will fight Ben Saunders.
The 38-year-old Brown hasn’t fought since November, 2017, when he knocked Diego Sanchez out in the opening round. Brown was supposed to fight Carlos Condit in April, 2018, but withdrew due to a torn ACL.
According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Brown (21-16) will take Saunders on at the December 14th, UFC 245 card. The event will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The 36-year-old Saunders (22-12-2) is coming off a stoppage loss to Takashi Sato in April and is 1-4 in his last five bouts. Brown is 2-3 in his last 5 contests.
