Following Conor McGregor’s submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, Al Iaquinta isn’t holding back from criticizing the former champ.

Prior to UFC 229, McGregor slighted Nurmagomedov’s win over Iaquinta this past April, by referencing the lightweight’s real estate career, and the fact he isn’t ranked in the top ten. More recently, Iaquinta was a guest on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, and while discussing McGregor’s loss to Khabib, the rugged fighter said this (quotes via MMA Mania):

“You look great and then when the going gets tough or you get a little tired and things don’t go your way, you kind of check out. He pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes with all that talk. He built up a great fight and then he sh-t the bed”.

“He fought good, definitely has a lot of skills. The rematch is not anything he can fix. You can train to defend takedowns, you can train to get back up, train for a million things. The one thing you can not train is to have heart when sh-t gets real tough.”

Iaquinta is booked to fight Kevin Lee on December 15th. The two fought before in 2014, and Iaquinta won the bout via decision.
