After ending the reign of Max Holloway at UFC 245, new featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski has announced he’s going to have surgery on his hand.

The Australian fighter defeated Holloway at the recent event by earning a unanimous decision win. While speaking to Submission Radio since then, the 31-year-old Volkanovski announced he’s undergoing hand surgery Friday to repair his broken left hand.

The 21-1 fighter stated he does not believe the surgery will be extensive.
