After finishing Alexander Romanov at UFC Las Vegas on Saturday, Alexander Volkov is hoping to avenge some of his losses. More specifically, the former Bellator champ has proposed a rematch with Ciryl Gane.

Volkov faced Romanov in the headliner of the March 10th card, and finished the fight with first-round strikes. The victory was the heavyweight contender’s second in a row.

Following the win, Volkov (36-10) reported he’s hoping to get some losses back (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Really, I’d like to possibly revenge somebody that I’ve lost to,” Volkov said. “Maybe, for instance, my rematch with Gane would be interesting.”

Gane faced Volkov in June, 2021, and recorded a unanimous decision win. Most recently, Gane was quickly submitted by now, new heavyweight champ, Jon Jones.

The 34-year-old Volkov also noted that he was happy with his performance, but that in fact, he wished he had finished the bout sooner.

“So I feel like it wasn’t as fast as we thought it was going to be, but everything we expected did happen, which is why the fight happened the way that it did.”
