Amanda Nunes will indeed fight Raquel Pennington next, and not Cris “Cyborg”, as the UFC ‘s announced the two will battle on May 12th.

The bout will be part of UFC 224, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Although the match-up was expected, recently Dana White said the promotion may look at having Nunes fight “Cyborg” instead. The featherweight champ, however, just competed last weekend at UFC 222, and stopped Yana Kunitskaya.

Nunes (15-4) is coming off a split decision win over Valentina Shevchenko in September, and the bantamweight champ has won six in a row.

Pennington (9-5) hasn’t fought since 2016, when she defeated Miesha Tate by decision. Pennington has won four straight.

Other fights scheduled for UFC 224 include Vitor Belfort vs. Lyoto Machida and “Jacare” Souza vs. Kelvin Gastelum.
