Anderson Silva Blasts “Almighty” Dana White For Matchmaking Decisions

Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva continues to deliver verbal shots at the UFC and the promotion’s president, Dana White.

Recently Silva demanded that the UFC grant him a bout with Yoel Romero for an interim middleweight fight, after criticizing the promotion’s decision to grant Georges St-Pierre a title shot. Since then, White has said that Silva will not face Romero for an interim belt.

The Brazilian star recently did a live stream from Combate, and while doing so, Silva said the following (quote via MMA Junkie):

“To make matters even worse, he – ‘The Almighty’ – does the following: He brings in a guy who came out of retirement, who’s not from the division and gets him to fight for the belt,” Silva said. “But how does he take a guy who’s coming out of retirement, who’s not in the division – he’s going to have an excuse for that, OK? I’m warning you – to fight for the belt with a guy who won a fight on the scorecards and lost another one via knockout?

“With a guy who allegedly, in his last interview, said he’s ready to fight. And didn’t get him to fight with the No. 1 ranked guy, who’s Yoel Romero. The whole thing is bull(expletive).”

Silva is coming off a decision win over Derek Brunson, after dropping consecutive bouts to Daniel Cormier and Bisping.
