In recent weeks, both Conor McGregor and Anderson Silva have expressed an interest in fighting one another, and now, the latter’s calling for the two to fight at 180 pounds.

Prior to McGregor’s submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 earlier this month, the Irish star reported Silva was someone he was interested in facing. Not long after, the Brazilian legend responded by saying he accepted McGregor’s challenge.

More recently, TMZ spoke with Silva, and when asked what weight the fight could take place at, the former middleweight champ said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I think 180 for me is good,” Silva said. “I think to Conor, (it’s good) too. Because it’s a super fight, it’s not about weight class.”

“Let me tell you something very important: It’s not about money, Conor. It’s about martial arts challenge.”

According to UFC President Dana White, McGregor has informed the promotion that he wants to face Nurmagomedov again. White, however, has said that as a “fan”, he wants to see Khabib fight Tony Ferguson next.
