Israel Adesanya has gone undefeated to date in MMA, while competing at middleweight, and right now, Anderson Silva doesn’t see that changing.

Up until this past March, the UFC’s middleweight champ had gone 2-0 in pro-MMA. At UFC 259, however, Adesanya moved up to light heavyweight to challenge champion Jan Blachowicz, and lost via decision.

Recently Silva spoke with Submission Radio. While discussing Adesanya, the legend relayed that he doesn’t see any middleweight out there, who can end the renowned striker’s reign (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Let me tell you something very important: Israel is the big champion,” Silva said. “Israel has a lot of experience in kickboxing, and I don’t see anybody that can win and challenge Israel in (his) weight class. Probably in different weight class, but in 185, I don’t think so.”

“It’s a different game, but I think Israel is on top of the game right now,” Silva added. “It’s hard to talk about, because Israel proved to anybody why he is the champion in this weight class. It’s very hard to stay in this weight class, fighting at a good level. I know because I’m there for 10 years. But it’s tough; it’s very tough.”

Silva faced Adesanya in February, 2019, and lost to the latter via unanimous decision. Adesanya is expected to battle Robert Whittaker in a rematch next. The champion stopped Whittaker in their first, 2019, fight.
