Anderson Silva posted a statement, following Chris Weidman’s gruesome leg break at UFC 261, in which he wished his former foe all the best.

Weidman snapped his leg, just moments into his fight with Uriah Hall on Saturday, when the latter checked a leg kic attempt. The horrific injury was the same one that Silva incurred in his 2013 rematch with Weidman.

Since the unsettling incident took place, Silva has shared out the statement below.

“My deepest and most sincere sentiments champ. Have faith, I wish you a speedy recovery. In this moment I wish you and your family light, love and knowledge. To the fans of the sport, please respect this moment of this incredible warrior and let’s wish that he is 100% very recovered soon. May God bless you and your family Chris Weidman.”

Weidman is expected to undergo surgery today in Jacksonsville, Florida.
