Anthony Hernandez to Battle Reinier de Ridder Next
By FCF Staff
Following their recent, pivotal wins, middleweight contenders Anthony Hernandez and Reinier de Ridder will square off.
Hernandez (15-2) is coming off a one-sided, fourth-round submission win over Roman Dolidze earlier this month to extend his winning streak to eight.
De Ridder (21-2), meanwhile, recorded a split decision win over former champ Robert Whittaker in his last outing, which took place in July. The former ONE champ has now gone 4 and 0 in the UFC.
On Tuesday, UFC CEO Dana White announced that the middleweights will battle in the headliner of the promotion’s October 18th card in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The fight’s winner could land a title shot, as de Ridder is ranked #5 and Hernandez is currently ranked #6. The #2 contender, Nassourdine Imavov, is scheduled to fight #7 ranked Caio Borralho on September 6th.
