Thanks to a six fight win streak and several impressive wins with World Series of Fighting, Anthony Johnson has reached a new deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and will fight Phil Davis, April 26th. The light-heavyweight bout will be part of UFC 172, which will go down in Baltimore, Maryland.

News of Johnson’s return and UFC 172 fight was tweeted by UFC President Dana White. No details regarding his new contract were included.

Johnson (16-4) entered free agency following his KO victory over Mike Kyle at WSOF 8 in January. Since the 29 year-old was released by the UFC in January,  2012, following a submission loss to Vitor Belfort, Johnson has gone 6-0 and recorded four stoppage wins.

Davis (12-1) hasn’t fought since August when he worked his way to a tightly contested, unanimous decision win over Lyoto Machida at UFC 163. The decorated wrestler has gone undefeated in four straight fights since he lost via UD to Rashad Evans in January, 2012. The 29 year-old Davis is currently ranked #4 in the UFC light-heavyweight division.

UFC 172 will be hosted by the Baltimore Arena and will feature light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones taking on Glover Teixeira in the main event.
