Anthony Pettis Announces Free Agency, Has “Decided to Part Ways With The UFC”
By FCF Staff
After fighting out his UFC contract last weekend, and recording a win over Alex Morono, Anthony Pettis has announced he’s parted ways with the promotion.
Leading up to the bout, Pettis reported that the fight was the last on his UFC contract, and after the win, he said he wasn’t sure about his next move.
Since then, however, Pettis tweeted out the comments below and posted an image of a letter, in which he thanked Dana White and the UFC for his run with the promotion.
After 12 years I’ve decided to part ways with the UFC to explore free agency.

Ordinarily, the UFC has an exclusive bargaining window with the fight, after they complete their contracts. So, it’s not clear yet whether the UFC waived that window or if Pettis had a different agreement in place.
The 33-year-old Pettis currently holds a record of 24-10.
