Former UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis has his next opponent, as it’s being reported he will fight Alex Morono.

Pettis (23-10) hasn’t competed since May when he outscored Donald Cerrone for a decision win. Prior to that the veteran fighter dropped consecutive bouts to Diego Ferreira and Nate Diaz.

ESPN is reporting that Pettis has agreed to fight welterweight Alex Morono at the UFC’s December 19th card in Las Vegas.

Morono (18-6) fought a couple of weeks ago and defeated Rhys McKee via decision. The welterweight is 4-1 in his last 5 bouts.

The upcoming, December 19th card was originally going to feature a fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Leon Edwards in the main event. But, recently it was announced Edwards has contracted the coronavirus and that he will not compete.

A welterweight fight between Stephen Thompson and Geoff Neal is expected to headline now.
