Artem Lobov Says Cub Swanson Has Never “in His Life Felt The Power That I Have”
By FCF Staff
Cub Swanson has fought many of the world’s top featherweights, during his run in the UFC, but Artem Lobov claims he’s never faced anyone who hits as hard as him.
Lobov has been booked to face the perennial contender at UFC Fight Night 108, which will take place on April 22nd in Nashville. Recently the Russian fighter appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and Lobov had this to say about the match-up (quote via MMA Fighting):
“I think against Cub I get it done,” Lobov said. “He comes in, he’s very open, he throws wild shots, and he has never, I promise you, in his life felt power that I have.”
To date, Swanson has faced heavy handed fighters like Jeremy Stephens, Chad Mendes and Doo Ho Choi, amongst others. The American is currently riding a three fight winning streak, and is ranked #4. Lobov isn’t currently ranked in the top 15.
“This is the match-up that I dreamed of,” Lobov said. “This guy, he lets me show my skill, he’s the guy that puts me out there, he’s the guy that helps me break into the top 10, not that I care about the rankings but it would be nice to be ranked, he’s the guy that will truly allow me to show my potential.”
Lobov (13-12-1) is coming off a decision win over Teruto Ishihara in November, while Swanson (24-7) earned a UD victory over the aforementioned Choi in his last bout, which took place in December.
