Many fighters report that they still get the urge to compete, after they’ve hung up the gloves, but Din Thomas says he’s not one of them.

The 40 year-old fighter hasn’t fought now since 2013, when he was decisioned by Georgi Karakhanyan. Since Thomas announced his retirement, he’s continued to be a coach with American Top Team, and more recently, he’s been cast on Dana White’s “Lookin’ For a Fight”.

The charismatic “Dinyero” recently spoke with UFC.com, and while discussing whether he ever desires to fight again, Thomas stated:

“I never get the itch,” Thomas said after reportedly laughing. “I don’t even train anymore. I go into the gym and I strictly coach. I’m a dummy for the guys, and I study more now than I ever did when I was fighting, so I understand fighting a lot better now, but I will never fight again. I’m totally done with it, and I’m totally happy with what I did in my career. It’s on to the next thing. I don’t want to live in the past. I don’t want to be that guy that’s talking about what I could have done or look at what I used to do. For me, it’s all about what I’m doing right now and what can I do later this year or next year.”

Thomas retired having gone 26-9 in his nearly, 15 year long career. The TUF 4 competitor made his pro-debut in 1998.
