The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts recently announced that it had signed TUF “Smashes” finalist Colin “Freakshow” Fletcher to a contract, and now the promotion has confirmed the lightweight will battle Tim Newman on September 14th. The bout will be part of the BAMMA 13 card, which will be hosted by Birmingham England’s National Indoor Arena.

Fletcher (8-3) will be looking to end a two fight losing skid, as the British fighter is coming off back-to-back decision losses to Norman Parke and Mike Ricci. The fighter was released by the UFC following the defeats.

Newman (10-3), meanwhile, has scored wins over Greg Loughran and Chris Hoban in his last two outings, while competing on the United Kingdom circuit.

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel was quoted saying in the official announcement:

“The return of Colin will again inject some additional colour into the UK MMA Scene. His experience overseas will be a test for the experienced Newman who is on a win streak and has added some new skills to his game since last fighting on BAMMA. Tim will not be phased by ‘La Cirque du Freakshow’ and will make this a fight an epic battle. Freakshow looks to redeem his recent losses and Newman hopes to establish himself as a BAMMA main card draw and continue to rise in the UK rankings.”

BAMMA 13 will be televised on AXS TV in the U.S. and The Fight Network in Canada.
