The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts has announced that UFC vet Oli Thompson will battle heavyweight Gzim Selmani in the headliner of its April 5th card. BAMMA 15 will be hosted by the Copper Box in London’s Olympic Park.

Thompson (12-5) has gone 3-1, and is coming off consecutive stoppage wins, after exiting from the UFC in 2012. Thompson went 0-2 during his time in the Octagon and incurred losses to Philip de Fries and Shawn Jordan.

“I have been looking to fight on BAMMA for a long time,” Thompson was quoted saying in the official announcement. “The show always has a great look. I am bringing an intensity and athleticism that is not seen in many heavyweights, and I will put my body on the line to get the win at all costs. I want to become the first BAMMA Heavyweight champion”

Selmani (3-1), meanwhile, has recorded back-to-back submission victories after incurring his first pro loss in May, 2013.
