BAMMA 9: Matt Ewin and Mark Tucker Confirmed as Injury Replacements
By FCF Staff
The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts has confirmed two line-up changes for the promotion’s latest event this Saturday in Birmingham, as Matt Ewin and Mark Tucker have been brought in as replacements for the injured Nick Nembhard and Lewis Long.
Ewin (22-11) will step in for Nembhard, who has suffered a broken hand in training camp, and will take on Lee Barnes. Ewin will be looking to end a two fight losing skid, as the veteran middleweight is coming off losses to Claudio Henrique Da Silva and more recently John Phillips.
Barnes (9-9) last competed at BAMMA 8 in December and lost by unanimous decision to Jack Marshman, which ended the middleweight’s three fight win streak.
Tucker (3-1) will step in on short notice to battle Tom Breese (3-0). The latter hasn’t fought since 2009, when Tucker incurred a no contest against Sami Berik, while competing for the Strength and Honor promotion.
Breese is coming off a first round, submission win over Qasim Shafiq at BAMMA 8. Since turning pro in 2010, all three of Breese’s wins have coming via tap-out.
BAMMA 8 will be hosted by Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena and will be headlined by a bout between world middleweight champion Tom Watson and British champ Jack Marshman.
