BAMMA Middleweight Champ Tom Watson Confirms Back Injury

By FCF Staff

Just a few weeks removed from his impressive knockout win over Murilo Rua on May 21st, BAMMA Middleweight Champion Tom “Kong” Watson has confirmed that an injured back has forced him to the sidelines. Speaking on his official Twitter account, the noted striker posted:

L5 disc in my back has gone. I’m paying at least another 500 quid here to try fix it. Its gonna be 3 weeks until ill even be able to shadow

Watson has gone 9-1 in his last ten fights with his only loss during that stretch coming against UFC vet Jesse Taylor, who submitted the British middleweight at MFC 26 in September. Watson scored three wins in 2010, defeating Travis Galbraith, Matt Horwich and Alex Reid.

Watson (14-4) underwent arthroscopic surgery on both of his elbows earlier this year in January, before facing Rua at BAMMA 6.
