Belfort, Ebersole, Evans and Ortiz Collect UFC 133 Bonuses

By FCF Staff

Although Tito Ortiz failed to pull off a second upset in as many months, the former light-heavyweight champion received an additional $70,000 for his efforts at last night’s UFC 133 card, as he and opponent Rashad Evans collected the event’s “Fight of the Night” bonus.

Evans stopped a game Ortiz in the second round after he blasted the veteran with a knee to his chest.

“Knockout of the Night” honors went to Vitor Belfort (pictured), who put away Yoshihiro Akiyama in highlight reel fashion with a flurry of punches shortly into round one.

Due to the fact UFC 133 did not feature any submissions, no bonus for “Submission of the Night” was handed out, however, Brian Ebersole received an extra $70,000 for what the promotion’s President Dana White described as “Thanks for getting those horrifying shorts off TV as soon as possible” bonus.

Ebersole pounded out fellow veteran Dennis Hallman with a series of punches and elbows in round one, who was wearing a pair of extremely small blue tights. White expressed his anger about Hallman wearing the shorts after the event, reportedly saying that he was embarrassed about the fact UFC staff did not prevent Hallman from wearing the shorts.
