Bellator 137: Eduardo Dantas-Mike Richman Among Several Bouts Added

By FCF Staff

Bellator has announced that its May 15th event in Temecula, California, will feature the postponed bout between Eduardo Dantas and Mike Richman.

The bantamweights were originally scheduled to fight at Bellator 135 last weekend, but an injury forced Richman to withdraw.

Dantas (16-4) is looking to get back on track, after he was decisioned by Joe Warren last October and lost the promotion’s bantamweight title.

Richman (18-5), on the other hand, has won back-to-back bouts, after he lost by decision to Goiti Yamauichi in May, 2014.

“I’m pumped that we were able to reschedule the Dantas-Richman fight so quickly,” Bellator President Scott Coker was quoted saying in the press release. “Last Friday, Bellator saw two amazing bantamweight contests that produced a new champion and a ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate.  Both Dantas and Richman are extremely exciting fighters who are undeniable standouts in a bantamweight division with a lot of depth.”

Other fights that have been announced for Bellator 137 include light-heavyweights Virgil “Rezdog” Zwicker (13-4-1) vs. “Razor” Razak Al-Hassan (12-4), and welterweights Fernando “The Menifee Maniac” Gonzalez (23-13) vs. “Curtious” Curtis Millender (7-1).

In the main event, middleweight champ Brandon Halsey (8-0) will take on UFC vet Kendall Grove (21-14).

The main card will be broadcast on SPIKE.
