Bellator 175: “King Mo” Lawal “Wouldn’t Mind” Fighting Winner of Fedor Emelianenko – Matt Mitrione

"King Mo" Lawal

By FCF Staff

Following “King Mo” Lawal’s win over “Rampage” Jackson last night at Bellator 175, the promotion announced he’ll face Ryan Bader on June 24th. But, the accomplished fighter also has his sights on another all-star bout.

Lawal worked his way to a unanimous decision victory over Jackson in Friday’s headliner, to avenge a decision loss he incurred versus the latter back in 2014. Immediately after the bout, it was announced Lawal will face Bader at Bellator’s upcoming “NYC” card. At the post fight-presser, however, Lawal had this to say about his short term future (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I’m cool with (fighting Bader),” Lawal said. “But at the same time, I wouldn’t mind fighting the winner of (Matt) Mitrione and Fedor (Emelianenko). I just want to bounce – I want both titles. I want two title shots. I want to fight for the 205 belt and heavyweight belt.

“… I just want to fight everybody. The more you keep on winning, the more title shots you’ll get, or you’ll have chances to get title shots. I’m just trying to fight and win at any weight class.”

Mitrione and Emelianenko are booked to fight in the co-headliner of Bellator “NYC”. With last night’s win, Lawal moved his overall record to 21-6.
