By FCF Staff
Bellator Fighting Championships has announced that its upcoming, October 22nd card will take place at the Cocopah Resort and Casino in Yuma, Arizona. The card will feature light-heavyweight champion Cristian M’Pumbu taking on well traveled vet Travis Wiuff in a non-title fight, as well as, the semifinals of the promotion’s ongoing bantamweight tournament.
In one semifinal match-up, Alexis Vila will take on Marcos Galvao. Vila (10-0) is coming off a stunning knockout of featherweight champion Joe Warren last month, while Galvao (10-4-1) scored a split decision victory over Chase Beebe in the quarterfinals.
The other semi will see Ed West fight Eduardo “Dudu” Dantas. West (17-5) worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Luis Alberto Nogueira in the tourney’s opening round, while Dantas (11-2) KO’d Wilson Reis.
M’Pumbu (18-3-1) hasn’t competed since May when he stopped Richard Hale at Bellator 45 to win the promotion’s light-heavyweight crown.
Wiuff’s (64-14) last bout was also in May, when he TKO’d Nick Baker while competing for Extreme Challenge.
Bellator 55 will be broadcast live on MTV 2 and the preliminary card will be streamed on Spike.com.
